Abstract

Burns are a pathological condition that, if not managed properly, will cause wider damage. This study aims to analyze the potential of campasterol from the cage beetle Alphitobius diaperinus inhibitor IL-1β in burn conditions analyzed through in silico. The receptor used is Interleukin-1β. The test ligand used is campasterol. The comparator ligand used is silver sulfadiazine. The study variables analyzed were affinity energy, root mean square deviation (RMSD), amino acid bonds, inhibition constants, and binding site similiarity percentage (%BSS). The results showed that the RMSD value of IL-1β was 0.4626 Å. The energy value of campasterol affinity showed the most negative value compared to natural ligands and comparators, which was -6.4 kcal/mol. Campasterol amino acid bonds have six hydrophobic bonds, while silver sulfadiazine has only one bond. Based on the results of in silico analysis, it is known that campasterol has the potential to be an IL-1β inhibitor candidate in burn conditions.
